Connect to the MAPSYS user. Execute “Delete from TBLICENSE where LICENSEKEY is null.” 4. Start AutoCAD Map 3D and log into the enterprise industry model using the MAPSYS user. Restart Map3D and login using the MAPMAIN user. You cannot add a feature class based on a view that does not have an uppercase name. The view will not be listed in the view list in the Feature class form.
Geographic Coordinate systems are not supported for Industry models and using them may result in error messages. FDO ODBC You cannot select “identity” properties whose names contain,?, ',:,;. Spatial Indexing If a SHP spatial index file (.idx) becomes corrupted, the extents stored with it might not be correct. As a result, the layer extents will be clipped and polygons fills will be defective. To correct this issue, manually remove the.idx file.
It will be automatically regenerated when the layer is loaded. Help Buttons display unrelated Help Topics When you select layers for converting mtext to text layers, the Help button does not display related help. To get help on this task, from within the Help system search for the Convert MText To Text Layer dialog box. When you style a text layer, the Help button in the Style Annotation Text dialog box incorrectly displays help for the Style Label dialog box. To get help on this task, from within the Help system search for the Style Annotation Text dialog box. Style and Label Editor When creating a theme, it is recommended that you do not specify expressions for Width/Height value of symbols in the Style and Label Editor, but rather use the new stylization UI that can be invoked by pressing the ellipses button on the expression for each rule in the theme.
When you create a label for a point feature, you can add up to eight separate symbols. The symbols display in the preview as though they were stacked on top of each other. However, in your map, the symbols will be clustered around the point features, without overlapping.
Only the following properties will be retained when converting feature labels to MText - Content, Size, Position, Rotation and Alignment. Label stacking is not supported. To show multiple point labels, assign an offset. You cannot do this for line and polygon labels, because there are no offset options for those geometries. Standard styles preserve units as part of the persistent data saved in a drawing file or in a.layer file. Enhanced Styles do not preserve units.
As a result, converting between enhanced and standard style can create differences in style parameters. Those differences do not affect how the layers look in a drawing. Use the ribbon style options with simple styles that don’t include compound styles that have both text and graphics.
Stylization symbols can have fixed or parameterized properties. When AutoCAD Map 3D creates a symbol from a block, if properties like color and lineweight are specified as ‘BYLAYER,’ these properties become parameterized properties of the new symbol. Properties whose values are fixed (i.e. Lineweight = 0.3mm) become fixed properties. When you load a block symbol for use in a style, the Style dialog box preserves the current color and lineweight settings for parameterized properties. For example, if the edge color in the dialog box is yellow and you load a block symbol with a parameterized color property, the color in the Style dialog box will remain yellow. If you want to use the evaluated value instead (the color defined on the block’s layer – in this case, blue) load a block symbol with a fixed property value and then immediately load the parameterized block.
When you do that, the block symbol’s color value of blue will take precedence over the current value (yellow) in the dialog box. To create a multi-line text expression, use the parameter ‘ P’ (uppercase P) for enhanced styles and ‘ n’ (lowercase n) for standard styles.
The Expression Builder documentation mentions only the ‘ n’ option. The parameters are case-sensitive. Oracle Datastores When creating an Oracle datastore, if you use a name that has spaces in it, coordinate systems may be set incorrectly.
Avoid using datastore names with spaces. Sample Oracle Dump Files Sample Oracle dumps were not shipped with the AutoCAD Map 3D 2012 product but will be released to the Autodesk web site after the product ships.

Press End Task for those entries. Installation and Setup Updating Your Operating Systems To prevent installation problems all operating systems should be updated prior to installing AutoCAD Map 3D 2012 or any of its components. The.Net Framework 3.5 SP1 update is required on all Windows XP Professional operating systems.
The Start Windows Update option will direct you to the needed updates for your operating systems. Microsoft.NET Framework 4.0 AutoCAD Map 3D 2012 requires Microsoft.NET Framework 4.0 prior to completing the installation. For network deployments it is recommended that you update the client systems with the.NET Framework 4.0 prior to installation. This is a URL to Microsoft’s site to download and install.NET Framework 4.0. Microsoft.NET Framework 4.0 requires Windows Imaging Component If the Autodesk Installer prompts you to install the Microsoft.NET 4.0 Framework, the.NET 4.0 Framework installer may prompt you to first install the Windows Imaging Component (WIC). This can occur if you do not have the latest Microsoft Windows updates or service packs.
You are most likely to need WIC if you are running Windows XP SP2 without certain Windows Updates installed. If required, the Microsoft WIC installers are available at the following locations:.

Otherwise, AutoCAD Map 3D will fail to run. Configuring Administrative Images for Standard Stylization AutoCAD Map 3D 2012 offers two types of stylization, Standard and Enhanced modes. By default AutoCAD Map 3D is set to Enhanced mode. To configure network deployments for Standard stylization mode requires including a file “MapStyle.arg” in the root folder where the Map 3D executable is located. The “MapStyle.arg” is an empty text file that can be created by any text editor such as Notepad. The name of this file is important and must be “MapStyle.arg”.
Create the file on the server where the administrative image will be stored. During the configuration of the administrative image in the “Additional Files” option, browse to the MapStyle.arg file and add the file to the.
When AutoCAD Map 3D starts up it will be in Standard mode. On the Vista and Windows 7 operating systems it may be necessary to turn off UAC so that files can be copied to restricted folders prior to installation of deployments. Deploying Industry Model Templates When you install AutoCAD Map 3D using the default deployment method, industry model templates are installed in a different folder from the other templates. To make these templates available from the template folder (when users create a new map document), move them into the default template folder manually.
Installing Non-English version of AutoCAD Map 3D 2012 Do not install a non-English version of AutoCAD Map 3D on an English-language operating system. The language version of AutoCAD Map 3D must match the language version of the operating system. Setting or Refreshing Profiles Creating, resetting, importing, or refreshing profiles can cause AutoCAD Map 3D to crash because certain folders are no longer found in the environment path. To recover from this situation, follow these steps: 1. Type “Options” at the command line. In the Options dialog box, click the Files tab.
Under 'Support File Search Paths,' add the FDO directory to the paths listed. This directory (bin FDO) is in the root folder where AutoCAD Map 3D is installed (where acad.exe resides). For example, C: Program Files Autodesk AutoCAD Map 3D 2012 bin FDO. The directories in the support file search path can guide you to the installation path.
Restart AutoCAD Map 3D. Type “menu” at the command line. In the 'Select customization file' dialog box, you should see acad.cuix as the selected menu. Navigate to Map.cuix, menu, select it, and click Open. You may want to turn off the grid and change the background color after returning to the AutoCAD Map 3D workspace. Storm and Sanitary Analysis 2012 Installation Before you install AutoCAD Map 3D 2012 and Storm and Sanitary Analysis 2012, remove all folders and files from Beta release versions of Storm and Sanitary Analysis.
The folders or files associated with the Beta versions can cause uninstall issues, and may leave invalid files behind. Storm and Sanitary Analysis will not detect the presence of AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012 or AutoCAD Map 3D 2012 installations if they are installed in a directory whose name contains non-ASCII characters. Should this be the case, Storm and Sanitary Analysis will not install and will cause the installation of either product to fail. 64-Bit Systems Viewing the Welcome Screen Videos If you cannot run the videos from the Welcome Screen on a 64-bit system, you can view them from the Getting Started Guide section of the Help. If you have never used AutoCAD Map 3D before, or have only used AutoCAD, you may find these introductory videos very useful as initial training. Unsupported Components on 64-Bit Systems The following AutoCAD Map 3D components are not support on a 64-bit system: LDAO According to Microsoft, DAO (Data Access Objects) is not supported on 64-bit systems. Microsoft recommends migrating to ADO.NET.
Data Access Objects (DAO): DAO provides access to JET (Access) databases. This API can be used from Microsoft Visual Basic, Microsoft Visual C, and scripting languages. DAO 3.6 is the final version of this technology. Country Kits and Country Kit Extensions Country Kits and Country Kit Extensions can be added to your AutoCAD Map 3D installation. Feature Limitations and Notes Points Created in AutoCAD Map 3D Are Not Visible in ESRI ArcGIS If you create new points in a SHP file using AutoCAD Map 3D, you may not be able to view those points in ESRI ArcGIS. To work around this problem, take the following steps: 1.
Open the Editor toolbar in ESRI ArcGIS by clicking Tools Editor toolbar. On the Editor toolbar, click Editor Start Editing. Click Editor Save Edits to save your changes.
Assigning a Coordinate System to a Point Cloud for Indexing The point cloud feature only supports a subset of the coordinate systems available in Autodesk Map 3D. For a list of supported coordinate systems please visit the Knowledge Base for Map page on the Autodesk Map 3D web site. If your data is in LAS format and you don't need to assign a CS, you can use the AutoCAD point cloud command to create the index. ASCII files are not supported in AutoCAD. Digitizing Sample Files You cannot modify sample files from a limited user account in Windows Vista and Windows 7. To fix this issue, log on to AutoCAD Map 3D as an administrative user.
Bringing In Data Connecting to PostGIS Data Sources You can use the OSGeo PostgreSQL provider to connect to PostGIS data sources. Connecting to Oracle on Windows Vista and Windows 7 You cannot connect to an Oracle database from a limited user account in Windows Vista or Windows 7. In order to connect to an Oracle database in Windows Vista or Windows 7 log on to AutoCAD Map 3D as an administrative user. Moving Drawings Between Systems If you want to move your drawing from one computer to another, make sure that you have checked in all your features. If you do not check in all your features, AutoCAD Map 3D will not be able to populate the feature cache on the computer to which you have moved your drawing.
FDO ArcGIS Provider Issues FDO ArcGIS Provider is not supported on 64 bit operating systems. Schema Edit limitations: You cannot create a new ArcGIS schema or create feature classes. Instead, create feature classes within existing schemas or use ESRI tools to create those schemas and classes. Feature classes created with the Autodesk 3D Map Schema Editor are read-only. The Data Connect window does not display classes created in AutoCAD Map 3D.
Instead, use ArcCatalog to version-enable those feature classes and make them read/write. Connection Issues: With Windows 7, a lower case sde.default version shows up in the version list, but causes a schema access connection error. Instead, enter SDE.DEFAULT in upper case. Coordinate Systems: If you set the map coordinate system prior to connecting to a data store, you will get an error when you access a schema.
Connect first, set the map coordinate system, and then add the necessary layers. Geometry errors: Layers with features that have bad geometry fail to load. When creating new classes, the provider does not check for ArcGIS keywords being used in class or property names (e.g. DESC) and trying to create classes that use keywords will result in invalid identifier errors. This can happen via Schema Editor or Bulk Copy where a new class is being created. See the ArcGIS documentation for information about keywords.
When loading very large layers, the progress bar may not show the ongoing feature count, but the load still progresses. WMS layers Layers published with 3398 EPSG code by a WMS server will not display properly in AutoCAD Map 3D.
As an alternative, set the Server EPSG to a 31468 coordinate system. Coordinate Systems Creating Custom Coordinate Systems on Windows Vista and Windows 7 You cannot use the ADEDEFCRDSYS or MAPCSCREATE commands to create a custom coordinate system on the Windows Vista or Windows 7 operating systems. By default, the folder where the dictionaries are installed is write-protected. To allow write access, modify the write access for the “Geospatial Coordinate Systems” folder under C: ProgramData Autodesk.
Coordinate Systems May Display Incorrectly Certain SHP folders may contain erroneously-formed Well Known Text (WKT) coordinate projection descriptions in their.PRJ files. In these cases, the coordinate system reported in the Data Connect dialog may appear to be incorrect. Depending on the actual WKT text encountered, the discrepancy may be innocuous, and the data will be added to the map correctly. For example, some WGS-84 Lat-Lon WKT strings may inadvertently be reported as another Lat-Lon coordinate system, such as Antarctic98.LL (which has the same mathematical definition as LL84). Other Notes Updating the Infrastructure Map Server After installing a new version of AutoCAD Map 3D 2012, you must update the System User TBSYS/MAPSYS. Note: When you update Autodesk Infrastructure Application Extension, you must also update AutoCAD Map 3D and System Administrator. Autodesk Industry Model Setup Connecting to TBSYS/MAPSYS When you start Autodesk Industry Model Setup and the system cannot connect to the System User, do the following: 1.
In the server explorer in the left pane, click the System User. Enter your password and click Update. Note: If you try to connect to TBSYS/MAPSYS using a wrong password more than 10 times, the TBSYS/MAPSYS account may be locked.
Using Wastewater Import on Windows Vista If you plan to use Wastewater Import on Windows Vista, you must install Windows Vista Service Pack 1. System Administrator Issues System Administrator Fails to Import Some DMP Files The default export utility (EXP) is no longer supported by Oracle for 11g. Import (IMP) is still supported for backward compatibility. Therefore, existing documents of Oracle 10g exported by AutoCAD Map 3D can still be imported using the known functionality in System Administrator.
If you export from System Administrator with Oracle 11g R2, in some cases the resulting DMP file fails to import. The export utility ignores some empty tables without displaying a warning message to the user. This creates an error when you attempt to import.
As a workaround, users of Oracle 11g can use the new Oracle Data Pump utility introduced with Oracle 10g. Oracle import/export utility dumps and Oracle Data Pump dumps are not compatible. After manually exporting a schema using Oracle Data Pump export, users can manually import the schema on the target database using Oracle Data Pump import. The schema can then be imported as a document in System Administrator using Import From Existing Oracle Schema. Using Oracle 10g or 11g Data Pump Utility Use the Data Pump to import and export Oracle documents. For more information, refer to the Oracle documentation. Prepare database directory for export and import.
You need a database directory on both the databases where you will export and import the document. By default, Oracle is pre-configured with a default data pump directory called DATAPUMPDIR. Check the physical location of the DATAPUMPDIR or any other database directory using the following command (as SYS): Select d.directoryname, d.directorypath, o.created, o.lastddltime from sys.DBADIRECTORIES d, sys.DBAOBJECTS o where o.OWNER =. OWNERand o.OBJECTNAME =.DIRECTORYNAME and o.objecttype =DIRECTORY' and o.owner = SYS'order by objectname; This command returns a physical location for DATAPUMPDIR for example,D: oracle admin orcl dpdump If there is no data pump directory configured, create or replace it with the following statements: CREATE OR REPLACE DIRECTORY DATAPUMPDIR AS 'D: oracle admin orcl dpdump '; GRANT READ, WRITE ON DIRECTORY SYS.DATAPUMPDIR TO EXPFULLDATABASE; GRANT READ, WRITE ON DIRECTORY SYS.DATAPUMPDIR TO IMPFULLDATABASE; 2. Export an Oracle document using the data pump utility.
If the document to export is job-enabled, the exporting user (SYSTEM in the example below) must have the system privilege EXEMPT ACCESS POLICY in order to bypass fine-grained access control. Warning If this privilege is missing, features in open jobs might be missing in the export dump.
Statement to execute (e.g. As SYSTEM): GRANT EXEMPT ACCESS POLICY TO SYSTEM; Call the data pump utility on a command line. Adapt the parameters to match your connection and schema. Expdp system/ pwd@orcl DUMPFILE=BLMJOB.dmp' LOGFILE= xpTBLMJOB.log'DIRECTORY ڔAPUMPDIR SCHEMAS=TBLMJOB') CONTENT=L JOBNAME=xp1' 3. Import an Oracle document using the data pump utility. Call the data pump utility on a command prompt. Adapt the parameters to match your connection and schema.
NoteYou must specify additional parameters if the tablespaces on the source and the target databases are different. Refer to the Oracle documentation for details. Impdp system/ pwd@orcl DUMPFILE=BLMJOB.dmp' LOGFILE=mpTBLMJOB.log” DIRECTORY ڔ APUMPDIR SCHEMAS=TBLMJOB') CONTENT=L JOBNAME=mp1' 4. Once the import is complete and the document schema exists on your database, use System Administrator to import the document. Select the option, Import From Existing Oracle schema.
